Mammary prostheses or augmentation mammoplasty.
Breast implant surgery is an outpatient procedure (does not require hospitalization) performed to increase the size or raise the breasts according to the needs of the patient and the guidance given by the plastic surgeon after assessing the patient. The procedure involves inserting a prosthesis or breast implant behind the existing mammary gland. It can be positioned either above or below the pectoral muscle thus giving a very natural appearance. Each individual case must be studied to verify what is best for each patient. This procedure is performed under anesthesia and sedation by the anesthesiologist, making the risk of complications minimal and the recovery extremely fast.
